The A1 Autoroute, also known as l'autoroute du Nord (the Northern Motorway), is the busiest of France's autoroutes. With a length of 211 km (131 mi), it connects Paris with the northern city of Lille. It is managed by the Société des Autoroutes du Nord et de l'Est de la France (SANEF). The autoroute serves the northern suburbs of Paris, including the Stade de France, Le Bourget, Paris' Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, and Parc Astérix. From there it crosses Hauts-de-France, without directly passing through any of the major cities of the région. Throughout Hauts-de-France, the A1 runs parallel to the LGV Nord.

This music makes me feel like I woke up from a dream and I start to go about my day when I look at the clock and realize I can't make out the numbers. It's odd but in the moment it doesn't seem to register. But I'm definitely awake and it's time to shower and grab something........something to......drink? But what? I walk out the bedroom that I grew up in and into the hallway of the house I currently live in. Sort of at least. This is where I begin to realize something isn't quite on the level here. The lights are all off or seriously inadequate at lighting anything. There's a storm raging and lightning strikes illuminate my house giving it an eerie vibe that I'm not liking at all. But I am awake right? I mean I remember the dream I was having and my alarm went off and I woke up. That's the way I do it everyday. Then I go to the kitchen and make.......coffee! Ah see I knew I was awake. I take one last look at the storm. A dark ominous thing that I get a great view of being on the 40th floor of my one story villa. What a view. What a view? I'm in my kitchen before I can question much more. My wife is here somewhere. I can see her shadows and faintly hear her voice. She is always just out of sight or in my peripheral for the quickest fraction of a second. But I think nothing of it. At least I try. The stove clock won't give me any answers as to the time either and worst of all my refrigerator is empty. But that's life right? I mean that is life. Right? This is life............Right? That's the moment anxiety washes over everything both living and inanimate and I no longer hear my wife's voice. Which makes sense because I am not married. I look put the window at the storm again thinking it must be throwing me off and suddenly the view I'd back at ground level and there is a storm doing it's thing but it's pitch black outside like it's midnight and the front yard I'm looking at is the yard of the house I grew up in which somehow is vividly colored despite it being so dark that I can barely make out the oddly parked cars in the driveway and across the street. Nope, something is not okay here. Then I feel it, this is all wrong. It's a constantly and fluidly changing kind of wrong that makes sense only in our........dreams. I not awake am I? I am being lied to by my subconscious mind which wants me to believe that everything is perfectly normal and it's done a stellar job up until now. I know and it knows I know which just means thst I know that I know. So as a lightning bolt illuminates everything a bright white and the loud clap of thunder chases behind it I squeeze my eyes closed and in an instant I am awakened in my bed by the deep rumbling of thunder from an approaching Florida summer thunderstorm. My alarm has been going off but I'm not sure how long for. I check my surrounding. Definitely the right bedroom. With out hesitation I sprint out the door and I'm in my own home. Everything looks so normally normal that I breathe a long righ of relief and chuckle at my paranoia a little bit. Coffee sounds phenomenal right about now. The kitchen light is normal as well as all the others I usually leave on. I open the fridge to get creamer and while I don't have an endless amount of culinary options I do have my basics. I load the coffee machine the night before so it's just hit the button and catch a little bit of the news before I shower and head into the office. As I press BREW on the machine I notice the clock on the coffee maker and whatever is being displayed isn't anything I'm familiar with. I quickly turn to the stove. Same thing. I'm not awake am i? I will do this 5 more times whith my brain getting better at hiding the giveaways each time. I finally do wake up and go about my day but it takes most of the day for me to be totally convinced that I am not still in a dream. That was a year ago and even today I still find myself wondering this is real life. I mean my wife seems to think so.

Sure hope this doesn't lead me to a totally inconspicuous brick building
